In
1974, Maine Air Conditioning was founded in the state of Maine.
At the end of 1994, Maine Air Conditioning merged with, W.H.
Demmons, and now operates as one of it's three divisions under
W.H. Demmons, Inc.
Since 1986, Douglas W. Martin, President of W.H. Demmons,
Inc., has broadened Maine Air Conditioning’s services.
Maine Air offers ‘state of the art’ services to commercial,
industrial, and select residential customers. It is known primarily
as a ‘Design/Build/Maintain’ HVAC contractor, but also does work
with select ‘Plan and Spec’ projects. Maine Air Conditioning not
only covers the Greater Portland Area, but also travels as far south
as Portsmouth, N.H.; as far west as Conway, N.H.; and as far north
as Waterville, Maine.
Maine Air Conditioning offers customers a multitude of services
and keeps all its employees well trained, so it can guarantee their
solutions and meet their customers’ needs. These services are as
follows:
- A Service Department, under the supervision of Mike O'Brien,
that offers 24 hour/day service 365 days/year. We specialize
in commercial and industrial refrigeration, air conditioning,
heating (i.e. oil, natural gas, LP gas, heat pumps, steam and hot
water), computer rooms, air movement, air flow, electric and electronic
controls, pneumatic controls, humidification, dehumidification, electrical
work , and air and water balance. We pride ourselves on doing quality
work, and taking full responsibility of our actions.
- All our service and construction employees have completed gas training
and have received their Propane-Natural Gas Licenses.
- Since 1991, Refrigerant Recovery Equipment has been in use at Maine
Air Conditioning. All our technicians are certified to handle
refrigerants and each is outfitted with their own refrigerant recovery
unit.
- We are also a Marine Service Dealer for: Adler-Barbour, Nova Kool,
Nor Cold, Sea Frost, and Grunert for refrigeration; and Cruisair,
Marine Air, Lunair, and Ocean Air for air conditioning.
Our service department has grown to 9 full-time employees, which includes:
8 field technicians; Mike O'Brien, our Service Manager. As
a department we meet weekly to discuss accounts and receive training.
This keeps us sharp and informed. All scheduling, billing and tracking
is done with the Service 2000 computer system. This system allows
Maine Air’s customers to receive reports for tracking equipment
repairs, preventive maintenance programs, total costs, etc., which
is helpful for yearly budgets and equipment replacement.
