Geothermal Renovation 2006

York County Court House

YCCH entry

The York County Court House is an historic landmark, build around 1850. The original goal of the project was to upgrade their existing heating and ventilating system. An optional geo-thermal system was also proposed, and accepted. The upgrade to a geo-thermal system also would allow the court house to experience air conditioning for the first time. Annual savings were estimated to be $25,000.

The actual results surprised everyone.

How the York County Court House put in Air Conditioning
And Still Saved Taxpayers Over $69,000 the First Year

The installation of the geothermal system significantly reduced the consumption of oil, and the county was able to reduce its energy expense to that of FY 2005-2006
