Schair - Swenson - Watson Alumni Center

W.H. Demmons teamed with Ian MacDonald of Allied Engineering and Reed & Reed in 2003 to design and build the Schair-Swenson-Watson Alumni Center on the campus of Colby College.
Achieving LEED Silver Certification on this 30,000 square foot building was a very high honor for everyone involved on the project. LEED certifications are issued for four levels: Certified, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
The fact that the project achieved certified status is a huge success, not only for Colby College, but for the State of Maine as well, but to obtain Silver is that much greater an accomplishment. The Alumni Center is one of the first LEED Certified buildings in the State, a stepping-stone for the future of building construction in Maine.
