Engineering and Design of HVAC & Plumbing Systems used in commercial industrial and institutional buildings with special emphasis on energy efficient systems. Comfort heating & cooling applications, indoor air quality, VAV laboratory design, clean rooms and industrial ventilation systems. System designs featuring:
- high efficiency condensing boilers
- air-to-air energy recovery
- VAV supply & exhaust systems
- geothermal heat pumps
- DDC controls.
EXPERIENCE
Over 28 years in the HVAC industry, which began with consulting engineering firms in Maine, including Neill & Gunter, Enterprise Engineering and The Ames Corp. Approximately 1/3 of this time was spent working as a facility engineer working for both University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine, including a short period of time as Superintendent of Maintenance at USM. In 1986, Curt founded HVAC Consulting Engineering Inc., which provided high quality engineering for a wide range of clients throughout the Northeast. Curt also spent two years as the State of Maine Energy Engineer, providing energy audits for business and industry throughout Maine.
EDUCATION
- 1963-1967, Bullard Haven Tech., Bridgeport, CT, Certificate in Architectural Drafting.
- 1974-1979, University of Maine, Orono, ME, B.S. Mechanical Engineering.
LICENSES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Registered Professional Engineer, State of Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Vermont
- LEED Accredited Professional-2004
- Successfully completed the LEED Training Workshop. Since that time Curt has been involved in many successful LEED projects, two of the most noted are:
- Colby College Alumni Center
- Community Education Center at USM.
